DAA

I was just thinking last night about Obama's stance on marijuana. A few doors down from my dorm room, the guys got caught with weed. A cop came and talked to them, and gave them a court date in February. I was just thinking how awful it would be if someone gets caught with weed, and a year later is decriminalized. Would they erase their mishap off the record? Even more abstract, what if Obama decriminalizes or legalized marijuana by February, before my floor mates court date. Would it be cleared? What do you think?

  1. Thats actually really wierd to think about. I'm not sure if the court would actually clear them because at the point when they got caught it was actually illegal. It would be more moral in my mind to just let them slide because I don't think that would be fair.

  2. I don't think that if it become legalized he should be cleared because when he was caught it was illegal and he knew it so he should be punished for it. But the way our court system is he would be cleared and not charged with anything. Personally I don't think marijuana should be legalized I think it will just cause even more problems with our already screwed up society.

  3. I believe that, if the law is changed but our court system stays true to justice, as I hope it would, they will still be tried as if the law was still there. But knowing how our court system, I could see them getting off with nothing.
